What this layer shows

Areas flooded by a flood of medium probability (HQ100, statistically at least once in 100 years). This is not automatically a floodplain under § 76 WHG, which applies only once designated or provisionally secured. Compiled nationwide by the BfG (WasserBLIcK) from the Länder's flood hazard maps under the Floods Directive (3rd cycle 2022–2027); river and coastal flooding are included. What counts is the Land's own flood hazard map and the competent water authority, not this map.

Wasser und Hochwasser

The water-law side of a site: drinking-water and medicinal-spring protection areas with their zones, designated flood plains and flood hazard maps, Saxony’s flood-generation areas, and bathing waters. Flood plains designated under § 76 WHG are subject to the construction safeguards in § 78 WHG, including statutory exceptions and possible approvals by the competent authority. The map does not replace the authority’s assessment of a specific proposal.
