The zones protégées en matière d'urbanisme cover historic cores where the regional regulation governs signs, shopfronts and façade works. The scope of that regulation is mixed: some of the provisions have kept regulatory force, the rest now have only indicative value, and the mapped data does not say which regime the provision that concerns you falls under. Refer to the text of the regulation before concluding that an intervention is prohibited rather than merely regulated.
