What this layer shows
The coastal water bodies of the Water Framework Directive in the North Sea and the Baltic, with their European code, compiled nationwide by the BfG (WasserBLIcK). For projects in coastal waters, such as cables, ports or discharges, the water body is the unit of the § 27 WHG assessment. The layer shows the boundary, not the status; marine protected areas are in their own layers.
