What this layer shows

The river water bodies that Germany reports under the Water Framework Directive, with their European code, compiled nationwide by the BfG from the Länder's reports (WasserBLIcK). The code is the key to the no-deterioration and improvement duties of § 27 WHG and to the river basin management plan fact sheets. The layer shows where the water body is, not its ecological or chemical status.
