What this layer shows
Core, development and management zones of the Black Forest national park. The core zone is the natural-process part, no longer managed; the management zone is the 500-metre margin where bark beetle outbreaks are actively controlled. The European return does not carry a national park's zoning, which is why it is here.

Where an ecological consultant or a planning office starts: the protected-site network, the small designations, natural monuments and protected landscape components, the biotopes protected by law, the Annex I habitat types with their critical loads, and the species records. The small designations and biotopes are available where that state publishes them openly.
