Beschermde gebieden Duinendecreet
What this layer shows
The areas the Dune Decree of 14 July 1993 protects on the Flemish coast, in two categories: protected dune area (beschermd duingebied) and agricultural area important for the dunes (voor het duingebied belangrijk landbouwgebied). In a protected dune area an almost complete building ban applies: with a few exceptions, no permit can be granted to build or to alter the relief. In the agricultural area important for the dunes farming continues, but stricter conditions apply to permits. The category is in each area's title.

What a consultancy or a notary checks first in Flanders: SBZ-H and SBZ-V with their sub-sites, VEN and IVON, Ramsar, nature reserves and natuurbeheerplannen, land-use designation and overdrukken from DSI, rights of pre-emption, protected heritage and archaeology, flood-prone land, signaalgebieden and drinking water protection zones. The rest of water, soil, land use and heritage sits in a set of its own.
