What this layer shows
The groundwater bodies of the Water Framework Directive, the units on which the chemical and quantitative status of groundwater is reported. They lie above one another at depth, so a single location falls within several bodies at once. The layer imposes nothing in itself, but the status of a body plays a part in policy on permits for groundwater abstraction.
