What this layer shows
The protection strips of the state's nature conservation law: 150 m landward and seaward along the coast, 50 m around lakes of 1 ha or more and first-order watercourses. Buildings may in principle not be erected or substantially altered there (§ 61 BNatSchG, § 29 NatSchAG M-V); the law sets out the exceptions.

Flood plains designated under § 76 WHG are subject to the construction safeguards in § 78 WHG, including statutory exceptions and possible approvals by the competent authority. The map does not replace the authority’s assessment of a specific proposal.
