What this layer shows
The coastal risk areas of Madeira's Coastal Zone Programme: coastal erosion, overtopping and coastal flooding, and cliff instability. They constrain building along the coast; the programme's regulations set what is allowed in each strip. Covers the island of Madeira, not Porto Santo.

Madeira and the Azores
The set for working on the islands. ICNF's and APA's national layers cover the mainland only: these are the ones that answer on the islands: Natura 2000 and the national inventory of classified areas, on Madeira, Porto Santo, the Selvagens and the nine islands of the Azores. On Madeira come the regional layers: areas of potentially significant flood risk, sea cliffs, the land cadastre (still partial), the geological map, PDM zoning, landslide and fire susceptibility, coastal risks and the Santana and Porto Santo biosphere reserves. On the Azores, the Regional Government's layers: Ramsar sites, biosphere reserves, flood-risk zones, water-abstraction protection and vulnerable zones.
