What this layer shows

Common swift records under an open licence, given their own layer because the species otherwise disappears among the general bird records. Swifts are seen mostly in flight, so a dot points to activity in the surrounding area and not to a nest site, and where nothing is shown, either nobody looked or the record was not shared under a freely reusable licence. Where cover is dense the map shows at most three hundred records per view, and records under a non-commercial licence, by far the largest group in the Netherlands, are absent here. Where the publisher locates a record no better than a kilometre, it is drawn as a circle of that stated radius instead of a dot.

Not in the app's radius search: Observation records, not designations: an absence here is not evidence

Quickscan

What a consultant checks first: Natura 2000, National Parks and Ramsar wetlands, the public-law restrictions from the Wkpb register, rijksmonumenten, beschermde stads- en dorpsgezichten and World Heritage, the flood defences with their protection zone from the legger, and the province's water abstraction areas, groundwater protection areas and boringsvrije zones. The omgevingsplan and the Natuurnetwerk Nederland are missing here; for those, consult the Omgevingsloket and the provincial omgevingsverordening.

Nature

For the quickscan natuur and the natuurtoets: the Natura 2000 sites split by Habitats Directive and Birds Directive, so that for each site you can see under which directive the conservation objectives apply, together with the Nationale Parken, the Ramsar wetlands and, at sea, the fisheries measures in the North Sea. The Natuurnetwerk Nederland is not yet available as a national layer; consult the provinciale omgevingsverordening for that.
