What this layer shows

Sites protected under the Flora, Fauna and Natural Habitats Protection Regulations (S.L. 549.44) for their national importance, outside the Natura 2000 network: valleys, rubble walls, wetlands and rock pools. Works in or next to them are referred to the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA).

Where the data comes from

ARCGIS · bio.discomap.eea.europa.eu

Merestone asks this service live for the area on screen. Nothing is copied or stored beyond a short cache.

This layer is drawn from the European Environment Agency's annual return of what Malta reports, not from a live service of the national body itself. A boundary changed this year appears here when the next return is published.
