Phosphorus Pollution Risk (High PIP)
What this layer shows
Where farmland is most likely to lose phosphorus to water: the EPA's modelled critical source areas, showing the high band (ranks 1 to 3 of 7) that the EPA's own guidance targets, typically where overland flow can carry phosphorus and sediment to a stream. A susceptibility model built from soils and land use, not a measurement and not a designation; nobody is in breach for farming inside one. Ranks 4 to 7 are not shown.

Ireland runs a whole-territory Nitrates Action Programme, so risk grades come from these layers rather than from NVZ boundaries.
