What this layer shows
Germany's peat and other organic soils, harmonised by the Thünen Institute with the Land surveys: fen and bog, buried peat, deep-ploughed peat and former peat soils, with peat thickness and cover. The dataset serves emissions reporting and nationwide peatland questions; each area gives the scale of its source map.
