What this layer shows
The cantons' wildlife rest zones, brought together for the whole country. They protect wildlife from disturbance by recreation, above all in winter, when every flight costs energy reserves. Legally binding zones apply to everyone; recommended zones rely on people's consideration. The protection status is given for each zone, with the rule, such as no entry or keeping to paths, and the protection period.

Federal inventories
The inventories of national importance a project is measured against: BLN, floodplains, raised bogs and fens, mire landscapes, dry grasslands and amphibian breeding sites, with the hunting-ban areas, bird reserves, forest reserves, wildlife rest zones, Emerald and Ramsar sites and Pro Natura's reserves. The basis of every environmental assessment under the NHG.
