Bekkens (Integraal Waterbeleid)
What this layer shows
The bekkens are the planning areas of the decreet Integraal Waterbeleid, each with a bekkenbestuur and a basin-specific part of the stroomgebiedbeheerplan. The boundaries mainly follow the sub-basin, but they were laid down by decision of the Flemish Government and locally aligned with administrative boundaries. They impose nothing on a parcel, but they tell you which water policy and which plan it falls under.
