What this layer shows
Where birds have ACTUALLY been recorded: openly licensed observations shared through GBIF, Madeira and the Azores included, drawn for the area you are viewing. An area with no points means nobody has submitted records there, not that there are no birds. The Zonas de Proteção Especial (ZPE) are the legal answer to the same question: Madeira has four, one of them the mountain massif where Zino's petrel breeds.
