Tree Protection Areas
What this layer shows
Tree Protection Areas under the Trees and Woodlands Protection Regulations (S.L. 549.123), as Malta reported them to the European Environment Agency. Cutting, uprooting or damaging protected trees in them needs a permit from the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA), and compensatory planting may be required.

Merestone asks this service live for the area on screen. Nothing is copied or stored beyond a short cache.
This layer is drawn from the European Environment Agency's annual return of what Malta reports, not from a live service of the national body itself. A boundary changed this year appears here when the next return is published.
