What this layer shows
GTK's superficial deposits map shows the soil type at about one metre depth (the subsoil) and the surface soil, for example till, clay or peat. It is used to judge foundation conditions, infiltration and how contaminants may move. The map does not replace a ground investigation, and some areas are unmapped.
