I rijksmonumenten sono designati dallo Stato e iscritti nel rijksmonumentenregister. Modificare, trasformare o demolire un rijksmonument richiede in linea di principio un'omgevingsvergunning per una rijksmonumentenactiviteit; è esente solo la manutenzione ordinaria che lascia invariati dettagli, profili, forma, materiale e colore (Bal art. 13.11). I punti mostrano la registrazione e non il confine giuridico, e per molti monumenti la geometria è solo approssimativa. La stessa RCE dichiara che questo set di dati non è adatto a usi che richiedono un quadro preciso e completo delle ubicazioni dei rijksmonumenten, quindi consideri un risultato come un'indicazione e consulti il registro. Il registro non contiene nomi degli oggetti; gli oggetti compaiono quindi qui con il loro numero di rijksmonument, con la categoria nel sottotitolo e un link alla pagina ufficiale del registro.
