Lugares de Interés Geológico (IELIG)
What this layer shows
The sites of the Spanish Inventory of Geological Sites of Interest (IELIG), part of the Spanish Inventory of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity (Ley 42/2007), which the IGME is completing under Real Decreto 1274/2011, with their main interest (tectonic, stratigraphic, geomorphological, palaeontological…) and their code. Being in the inventory is not in itself a protection designation, but it is the reference for geological heritage in an environmental study. Only public sites are shown: those the IGME marks as restricted or confidential, to protect them, do not appear.
