What this layer shows
Residual (legacy) pollution sites entered in the Environmental Register: former boiler houses, fuel depots, industrial and military sites where soil or groundwater was polluted by past activity. Each site carries its status, hazard category and main pollutants. A site missing from the map is not proof that the land is clean; construction or excavation needs its own contamination survey.
