What this layer shows
The inventory of geotopes of national importance, compiled under the umbrella of the Swiss Academy of Sciences: outcrops, landforms, fossil and mineral sites that show Earth history particularly well. The inventory is a technical basis without legal effect of its own; a geotope is protected only once it is secured, for example, in the BLN, a cantonal inventory or land-use planning.
