A drinking-water source protection zone (Water Act, VeeS), where activities that could pollute the water, such as fertilising, building and storing chemicals, are banned or restricted. Around a borehole it is usually 10–50 m.

Flood areas at four probabilities, flood risk areas, the shore building exclusion, restriction and water protection zones, the public shore path, drinking-water source protection zones, groundwater protection, the nitrate-vulnerable zone and water body status. The building exclusion zone width comes from the Act (LKS § 38).
