Areas that show traces of flooding according to the soil map of Belgium (drawn up between 1947 and 1973 at a scale of 1:20,000), classified by the cause of that flooding. It is a medium-scale, indicative map from the Vlaamse Milieumaatschappij and not a legal delimitation: it says nothing about the current flood probability, the watertoets or an insurance obligation. Only the classes mapped as floodable are shown; each polygon is named after its class and basin, not by a name of its own.

The watertoets and the duty to inform: flood-prone areas from rivers, from rainfall and from the sea, risk zones, designated overstromingsgebieden, recently and naturally floodable land, groundwater protection and groundwater bodies, the Vlaamse Hydrografische Atlas, polders en wateringen, bekkens and bathing water. With the soil layers included: PFAS no regret zones, radon risk zones and active extraction sites.
