Bird records shared with GBIF under an open licence (CC0 or CC BY), drawn for the current view. It is not an inventory: where cover is dense the map shows at most three hundred records per view and therefore a sample, and empty space means that nobody looked or that the record was not shared under a freely reusable licence. Two things shape this picture strongly: far less open data is published in Wallonia than in Flanders, and the largest Flemish dataset supplies positions blurred to a 5 by 5 kilometre grid square, so those records are drawn as a circle of that radius rather than a dot.
