An overgangszone is the zone delimited around a protected immovable heritage property in order to safeguard its setting. What exactly applies is set out in the decision to which the zone belongs, not in the zone itself. Always assess it together with the protected property to which the name refers.

The immovable heritage as the agency publishes it: beschermde monumenten, stads- en dorpsgezichten and cultuurhistorische landschappen, the vastgesteld bouwkundig en landschappelijk erfgoed, overgangszones, Unesco core and buffer zones, beschermde archeologische sites, vastgestelde archeologische zones and the CAI observations. Erfgoedlandschappen and landschapsatlasrelicten are included.
