Die gesetzlichen Ausweisungen, die eine Ökologin zuerst prüft: SSSI, SAC, SPA, Ramsar sowie nationale und örtliche Naturreservate in England, Schottland, Wales und Nordirland, dazu alter Wald und vorrangige Lebensräume. Das ist der Eröffnungszug einer Preliminary Ecological Appraisal: was auf dem Standort oder in seiner Nähe geschützt ist. Gesetzlich geschützte Gebiete werden üblicherweise auf 10 km bezogen, Lebensraumverzeichnisse auf 2 km. Die Leitlinien nennen keine festen Entfernungen, setzen Sie den Radius also passend zum Vorhaben.
Küste
The intertidal and soft-cliff suite: saltmarsh, sand dunes, vegetated shingle, maritime cliff and slope, mudflats and saline lagoons: plus Heritage Coast, Marine Conservation Zones, Scottish MPAs, and the SPA and Ramsar designations that nearly always sit over an estuary. The Coast Path is included because access and designation overlap constantly on this kind of site.
