The schéma de développement communal sets the planning and sustainable development objectives for the commune as a whole. Like the schéma de structure communal, it is indicative: it guides the schéma d'orientation local, the guide communal d'urbanisme and permit decisions without binding them. Few communes have adopted one to date.
