Many lie within national or cantonal protected objects, some do not; a Pro Natura reserve is not in itself an official protection order: the cantonal and municipal protection decisions are what bind. For a site assessment the layer shows where land is managed specifically for nature conservation.

The basis of every environmental assessment under the NHG.
