Ecological links of regional importance included in the schéma de développement du territoire, within the meaning of article D.II.2, §5, subparagraphs 2 and 3 of the CoDT. The objective announced by the Walloon Government is to preserve them and to avoid there any further fragmentation or artificialisation of the territory. The schéma has indicative value (art. D.II.16, §1er). It is binding on the plan de secteur, on the schémas and on the guides and applies directly to permit applications only for the projects referred to in article D.II.16, §2, 2° (public facilities, linear infrastructure, urbanisation of more than two hectares); the authority may then depart from it subject to the statement of reasons provided for in article D.IV.5. This is not a prohibition on building. Some of the links have no proper name and are then displayed under their type of environment.
